Victorian hand-painted portrait & agate spinning brooch

A stunning antique Victorian era gold-filled brooch with a detailed hand-painted portrait on one side and a large agate stone on the other. This “flip” brooch swivels so that it can be worn two different ways. The setting is gold-filled and it has a long pin (likely base metal) with a C-clasp on the back. 

MEASUREMENTS & DETAILS

• Measurements: Measures 2.5 inches across by 2 inches high.
• Material: Unmarked, but frame & setting test as gold-filled. Portrait is hand-painted under glass. Stone appears to be agate. 
• Time Period: Antique | Victorian Era  

CONDITION

In very good pre-owned condition. Pin is a bit bent, but functional. There is some tone wear on the pin.
