Antique Victorian lava cameo drop earrings
A rare pair of lava cameo earrings, likely dating from the late 1800s. They depict four hand-carved faces and have a Roman-revival look to them -- each carving is unique and special. They are set in base metal and the ear wires are nice and straight -- very wearable. Lava cameos are made from limestone and miscellaneous rock from volcanic debris, and were often sold as pieces of tourist jewelry during the Victorian era.
