Victorian 10k gold grape cluster woven hair mourning brooch

An incredible and rare Victorian mourning brooch in the shape of a grape cluster made out of woven human hair and accented by 10k gold. This is from the collection of C. Jeanenne Bell, the author of "Collector's Encyclopedia of Hairwork Jewelry," which is one of the most well-known books about Victorian hairwork. The gold portions test as 10k gold and the hairwork is in beautiful condition, especially given its age.

CONDITION

This mourning hair brooch is in good antique condition. The hairwork is in really great condition with very little fraying or wear. Right now, the way the clasp sits is now allowing the pin to get in. I believe this is an easy fix and you could bend the clasp or pinch in the pin backing to adjust it and make it work as intended. However, I did not want to mess with it. There is also marker on the pin back that says 22, but that should come off with the right cleaning agent.
